What are biomimetic peptides?

They are synthetic substances, meaning they are created in the laboratory. These are modern biochemical active ingredients, small in size, formed by chains of two or more amino acids (up to 50) with a very low molecular weight (under 5000 Daltons). When the number of amino acids is higher, proteins are formed. From this combination, Collagen and Elastin, proteins normally present in skin tissue, are created.
Technology, in the search for new molecules created from scratch or modified, has led in recent years to the development of biomimetic peptides, capable of acting as substitutes for natural peptides (which decrease over time) in interactions with cellular receptors.
They "mimic" the action of a natural protein they resemble, binding in a highly specific way to the receptors of cells that regulate particular biological processes.
For example, they can send a chemical signal to fibroblasts that causes them to increase the production of collagen and elastin, improving skin firmness and tone.

Treatments

They are generally cycles of 2-3 injectable treatments performed with a very thin needle, and are well tolerated. A slight redness may be observed in the treated area, which disappears within an hour after the treatment.
