Silhouette Soft are completely resorbable bidirectional sutures for tissue lifting and collagen regeneration in various areas of the face and body. The action of Silhouette Soft is twofold:

• Lifting action on the malar area and eyebrow tissues, reshaping the jawline and neck for a natural and immediate effect. Results are immediately visible thanks to the sculpting of the area and the traction applied according to the patient's needs and desires;

• Regeneration action on the tissues of the treated area for a gradual and lasting result. Thanks to the gradual resorption of polylactic acid (PLA), collagen is restored to give greater definition to the features, maintaining the volume effect over time.

How it works

The Silhouette Soft suture consists of a polylactic acid thread ranging from 30 cm to 26.8 cm in length, depending on the type of Silhouette Soft used, on which eight L-lactic cones (Polylactic Acid and Glycolic Acid 82-18) are positioned, interspersed with knots.

The cones are arranged in two series oriented in opposite directions towards the ends of the thread, to obtain effective traction.
The central part of the thread, without cones, measures 2 cm and is delimited by 2 knots equidistant from the center of the thread.
Silhouette Soft are the only lifting threads with resorbable cones.

Treatment with Silhouette Soft.

Silhouette Soft treatments are performed in a medical office and are very quick, lasting about 30 minutes. The treatment requires minimal anesthesia only at the entry and exit points of the suture needles.

Before proceeding with the treatment, the doctor carries out a pre-treatment drawing that helps to identify the path of the sutures on each side of the face following a specific pattern. The entry point from which both needles will be inserted and two exit points, from each of which one of the two needles will emerge, are identified.

Suture implantation.

After disinfecting the area to be treated, the entry hole is created with an 18G needle, supplied with the Silhouette Soft sutures. The first needle is then inserted into the entry point and passed subcutaneously. The needle is inserted into the adipose tissue at a depth of about 5 mm. The needle is brought out from the first exit point along with the suture.

By applying slight traction to the suture, the cones are passed through the entry point. Once all the cones have been inserted, the traction phase is complete, and the second end of the suture is implanted.

The second needle is inserted into the same entry point as the first, but in the opposite direction. The needle is brought out from the predetermined exit point, and by applying slight traction to the suture, the cones are guided in until the suture itself is fully implanted.

Adipose tissue compression.

Once the entire Silhouette Soft suture has been inserted subcutaneously, the treated area is shaped.
Slight pressure is applied to the skin, and at the same time, the ends of the suture protruding from the skin are pulled to allow the cones to adhere better to the subcutaneous tissue and maintain the compression effect.
Once the adipose tissue traction is achieved, the excess suture protruding from the skin is cut.

Post-treatment.

The treatment generally does not cause postoperative pain, but painkillers may be prescribed if necessary.
During the first week after treatment, the patient should avoid: dental procedures, massages, facial aesthetic treatments, and physical activity involving physical contact. It is advisable to sleep in a supine position.
 

Implantation techniques.

Silhouette Soft sutures can be implanted using different techniques depending on the desired result and the area to be treated.

Linear patterns

Used for repositioning cheekbones and for neck treatment.

Obtuse angle patterns

They are ideal for improving specific areas, for example, they provide greater definition of the jawline.

V-patterns and U-patterns

Allow for optimal anchoring and strong traction. The V-technique is indicated for the treatment of thin skin, while the U-technique is particularly suitable for thick tissues. Both patterns are mainly used in the mid-face.
